Our country / Nuestro Pais
Our school is in Costa Rica.
Costa Rica is a small country in Central America. It is between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
In Costa Rica people can find a variety of flora and fauna. Our country is in the tropic. We have mainly four kinds of forest: Rainy, dry, mixed and cloud forest.
Here you can see a beach in the Pacific Ocean shore at the North of the country.
Water are warm the whole year and waves are ready for surfing.
In Costa Rica there are only 2 seasons: rainy and dry season.
Nuestar escuela se encuentra en un pais llamado Costa Rica, el cual se localiza entre el Oceano pacifico y el Mar caribe. En Costa Rica se puede encontras una gra variedad de flora y fauna.
Nuestro pais tiene 4 tipos de bosques principalmente: Bosque seco, lluvioso, nuboso y mixto.
En Costa Rica las aguas del mar son calidas todo el aņo y somos famosos por las olas para surfear.
Costa Rica solo tiene 2 estaciones: Seca y lluviosa. |

What we study / Lo que estudiamos
Our school has 22 classrooms and 60 teachers. There are 1400 students. Our school is small. Students attend classes in two shifts. From 7:00 AM to 12:10 PM and from 12:30 pm to 5:40 pm.
In our school we study the following subjects:
Mathematics
Spanish
Science
Social Studies ( History and geography)
English
Music
Fine arts
Agriculture
Ecological Education and the use of computers.
Nuestra escuela tiene 22 aulas y 60 profesores. Hay 1400 estudiantes. Nuestra escuela no es grande. Los estudiantes van a clases en dos turnos: de 7:00 AM a 12:10 PM y de 12:30 PM a 5:40 PM.
En nuestra escuela se imparten las siguientes asignaturas:
Matematicas, Espaņol; Ciencias, Estudios Sociales, Ingles, Musica, Artes Plasticas, Agricultura, Education Ecologica y computacion.
We are concern about our environment / Nos preocupa el Ambiente
In our school we have developed two different kind of ecological projects:
1. All-community environmental projects ACEP
2. In-class environmetal projects ICEP
All- Community environmetal projects are in charge for a whole level of students and teachers, thus, because we have 6 levels, then we have 6 environmetal projects .
In 2004 the ACEP projects are:
First graders: An outdoor greenhouse for native plant's seeds specially chosen for butterflies and humminbirds.
Second graders: Indoor greenhouse for butterlies farm.
Third graders: To sow plats which flowers and fruits are attractive for butterflies, humminbirds and
native birds.
Fourth graders: Medicine garden and organic fertilizer.
Fifth graders: Digital cataloging of insects and plants from the community.
Sixth graders: Outdoor and opened butteflies gardens and plants-paths around the school.
The ICEP projects are science projects develop in the ACEP areas. Students have in class computers to edit the final step of their research made in the corresponding ACEP level's area.
For example: Second graders ACEP project is the indoor greenhouse for butterflies farm. Then, students belonginf to this level develop researches about butterflies. They use information taken as primary source from the greenhouse.
